Home stagers have quite a challenge when it comes to deciding on whether they want to rent furniture or buy it. However, there are those who choose to purchase it if they are going to buy a home that is not already furnished. There are some negative and positive points of views to take a look at when it comes to renting furniture.
Let’s first take a look at the advantages when it comes to lounge rental. When renting furniture you need to be prepared to make a large lump sum investment. You do not have to worry about picking the furniture up for your home or event, because it will be delivered to you. Despite these two advantages alone there are still some home stagers that prefer not to rent furniture for their homes or events. Some home stagers say that renting the furniture is not ideal because it isn’t attractive.
There are a good number of home stagers that agree to the disadvantages of renting furniture.
Firstly, to some home stagers, the furniture that they are to rent is not ideal or attractive for the event that they want to place it at in. Some of the bland, contemporary furniture just doesn’t cut it, and often times the furniture that the stager is looking for is not available. This leaves them with options that they don’t want or are not completely satisfied with.
Secondly, there are many home or event stagers that find that renting the furniture that they need is more expensive than just buying it. Generally most lounge rental companies require a minimum of at least 3 months. So after a 3 month period you will have to pay for each piece of furniture again that you are renting, if you still want to be able to use it.
When it comes down to buying or renting furniture, buying seems to be what most people would prefer to do. More money is saved when buying furniture because there is no minimum contract involved where you have to pay a minimum after every three months or so. However, to buy furniture it would be expensive when you first purchase it, but in the long run it will save you money because you won’t have to make continuous payments on furniture that does not fully belong to you. You only have to pay one time unless you are renting to own the furniture.
Another disadvantage about renting staged furniture is that there are limited choices when it comes to the colors, designs, and patterns that you can choose from. While some people are satisfied with the options that are available there are others who cannot find what they need for their staged events.
However, something that you can do to give yourself time to find just what you need for your event is look in advance, and browse more than one furniture rental company. There are plenty of companies available online to rent from as well as companies that you can visit locally.
